Donna Kurtz grew up in McHenry County and attended Crystal Lake Central High School. She holds a BA from Southern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She has over twenty-four years of business and financial experience as a corporate manager supervising multi-million dollar projects, and as a financial advisor.
Her public service includes being twice elected as a McHenry County College trustee, board member for McHenry County Family Services, and auditor for the Illinois Auditor General. Her pledge to the community is to champion a McHenry County that remains beautiful, productive, and economically vibrant. As an experienced business woman, she will promote an economic environment in our county that offers sound income and job opportunities that will support our families and strengthen our tax base. To protect our quality of life Donna will support practical, effective transportation solutions. She will also safeguard lake, fen, and stream watersheds, and protect our precious drinking water. Donna has a proven record of standing up for the community and is a strong advocate of open meetings and seeking public input. She believes that citizens expect officials to serve the public interest. She will speak her mind and is an independent and conscientious choice of reason.
Donna is a devoted wife and stepmother. She is very active and enjoys cycling, hiking, skiing, and tennis.
