Judy Roach takes on the Jury Commission
Judy Roach was recently promoted to the position of Jury Coordinator, filling the vacancy when Mary Mahon re-tired. Judy has been with Court Administration for nearly 3 years before beginning her role as the Jury Coordinator. Judy will be instrumental in developing new procedures and new ideas relating to jury management. Nearly every week 160 jurors are summoned to serve for the various trials. Judy is responsible for ensuring that there are sufficient number of qualified jurors to service the needs of the court. Under Judy’s direction the Jury Commission has begun to rely more upon the use of technology to aid with juror coordination. Recently three days were spent with the Jury Commission’s information sys-tem vendor in an effort to under-stand and identify what the system could potentially do for the Jury Commission. It is anticipated that the use of technology will ultimately save staff time and reduce overall costs. In addition to computerization, Judy will oversee the cross training of the Jury Com-mission staff to ensure continuity of operations.
Mary Weishaar joins Court Administration
The court would like to welcome Mary Weishaar to the Court Administration team. Mary has spent the majority of her adult career in the private sec-tor, working in a variety of roles including executive assistant for various manufacturing companies. Mary is starting a new challenge in her life as she has not been involved in the judicial system before. When not working in the court, she likes to play with her god children and attend basketball and soccer games.
Mary continues to work part time as a manager for a Hallmark store in Rockford. She grew up and went to school in Marengo and re-members fondly when Judge Weech would deliver pizza’s to her home. Mary recently moved to Woodstock from Belvidere.
