The McHenry County Division of Transportation is a full service transportation agency that is involved with other agencies of local government. It is our goal to provide transportation and planning to address the demands of maintaining the ever increasing lane miles in McHenry County in a safe and efficient manner and to implement improved access management policies.

The Year 2020 Transportation Plan as contained in the 2020 Unified Plan is the official long-range transportation plan for the McHenry County Division of Transportation.  This Plan is updated annually through the Five Year Improvement Program.  Click on the following links to download the entire plan or portions of the plan.  Should you have any questions regarding the following links, please contact Jason Osborn at 815/ 334-4981.

It is important to note the County Board approved on October 4, 2005 the transportation components of the 2020 Unified Plan.  The land use components of the 2020 Unified Plan are not the official Land Use Plan for McHenry County.  The current Land Use Plan for McHenry County can be found on the Planning and Development Department’s web site.
