McHenry County Animal Welfare Coalition
McHenry County's licensed rescue groups have joined together and made its mission to find homes for every adoptable pet in the County.
Founded in 2008, MCAWC works collaboratively through community outreach, education, spay/neuter efforts, and adoption events to ensure humane treatment for animals.
Vision -
- focus efforts on adoption and public education;
- provide services to animal rescue groups, independent rescuers and shelters through networking, joint fundraising, coordination of adoption events, grant opportunities and expanded media coverage of animal issues;
- advocate within our communities and throughout the County.

Mission -
- to provide care for the animals at the Adoption Center;
- increase awareness of McHenry County Animal Control services and adoptable animals;
- educate the community about responsible pet ownership and preventing animal cruelty.
