Food Protection Program

The primary goal of the Food Protection Program is to prevent foodborne illness.  Department staff works closely with food operators through the construction plan review process, operational inspections and educational programming to ensure that safe and wholesome food products are provided to the public.

      If you suspect a foodborne illness, contact McHenry County Department of Health for investigation.  Staff can be reached at (815) 334-4585, Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  For after hours emergencies, please call (815) 344-7421.
