Working to protect the health and safety of McHenry County Residents by planning for and responding to public health emergencies

 

 

Emergency preparedness means being ready if a disaster strikes. It is important to know what we can expect and how we will respond to a disaster before it happens. McHenry County Department of Health is preparing for a prompt and effective response to a variety of public health emergencies. By working with our community partners, we can respond to natural or manmade events. We are committed to protecting our residents by:

 

          • Refining and practicing our emergency plans
          • Educating the community
          • Conducing trainings for our staff and volunteers

 

Within this site you will find information and resources to learn more about potential threats facing McHenry County and how you can prepare for these threats. Every citizen has a role in emergency preparedness and can do something to make their families safer, stronger and ready to face a disaster. Even a small amount of preparation can make a huge difference.
