Facility Design
Each of the four Housing Blocks has their own Control Rooms. All doors in the facility are controlled electronically. Central Control monitors over 100 cameras throughout the facility and Government Center omplex. The Housing Control Rooms monitor over 20 cameras in each of the Housing Blocks.
The first floor contains the Administrative Offices, Central Control, Warrants Division, Bond Court Room, Male and Female Booking, Property Storage Room for inmate property, Squad Car Sallyport, two Protective Isolation Cells, Interview Rooms, Kitchen facilities, and a Laundry Room.
The basement contains various Mechanical Rooms and the Court Holding area. The Court Holding area is made up of four large holding cells where inmates are taken to await their Court Call in one of the courtrooms in the Government Center. Inmates are taken to the courtrooms by elevator. After being brought up from the Court Holding area, inmates are placed in another holding cell that is located next to each courtroom until their case is called.
The second floor has a main level and a mezzanine level. The main level contains the Commissary, Library, Barber Shop, Classification Office, and Multi-Purpose Room. This level is also the entrance to two of the Housing Blocks. Each Block is made up of six Housing Sections and one Exercise Room. Two Housing Control Rooms, staffed by Correctional Officers, control this area. The mezzanine level contains a video visitation area for each Housing Block. The Library is stocked with books that inmates may take to their cells to read. It is also stocked with legal books for inmates to use to conduct research in reference to their case. The Multi-Purpose Room is used to offer the inmates various programs while they are in custody. Some of the programs that are offered to the inmates are AA, GED, Church Services, and C.U.P. Services.
The third floor contains two Housing Blocks. Each of the Housing Blocks has a Control Desk area, Exercise Room, and two Direct Supervision Housing Units. One of the Housing Blocks also has two units for housing detainees/inmates with medical needs. The other Housing Block has two units that will be used for segregation for detainees/inmates that do not follow the facility rules. Each of the Housing Units on the third floor has a booth for video visitation located inside of the housing units. The Medical Offices for the entire facility are located on the third floor. Part of the third floor mezzanine area contains mechanical rooms and storage for the facility.
