McHenry County Workforce Network's resource room is located in the McHenry County Workforce Center at 500 Russel Court in Woodstock. The following services are available:
Illinois workNet - For comprehensive job search and career change assistance.
Illinois JobLink - You list your skills/education/work experience and Illinois Employers requesting those skills will contact you.
Internet Access - Lists of/and available Job Search Websites.
College Central Network - This is part of McHenry County College's career services which contains over 2,400 Employer Listings of jobs, not found in the papers, or on the Internet. Go to http://www.AlumniCentral.com.
Newspapers, Trade Journals - Classifieds from Chicago Tribune, Rockford Register Star, and the Northwest Herald.
Computers - With Local and National Data Bases available.
Resume Writing Software - You fill in the blanks and the Winway Resume software arranges it on the page and bolds certain phrases. You can choose your style and add bullets.
Job Club - The Network to Success Job Club meets twice a month. Each session incorporates a presentation given by a career or employment counseling professional or a video presentation, offering the latest information on job search techniques. Reference Materials - Various books/videos/pamphlets about Industries/Careers are available.
Microsoft Office Skill Building Tutorials - Such as Word 2000, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access and more (in Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced) as well as Typing and other tutorials.
Illinois workNet Career Information - Research information for possible career change by accessing www.illinoisworknet.com.
Job Browser Program - Reviews skills, interests, training and statistical information about wages, job outlook for a particular Industry/Career.
Labor Market Information - Which jobs are the fastest growing, and expected pay rates over the next few years.
Office Equipment - Computers, Copiers, Fax and Phone available, and U. S. Mail. As long as these are job search related, you may make 10 free Phone Calls/Mailings/Faxes on a daily basis. In addition, we have heavy bond paper available for resumes/cover letters, etc.
Staff - Staff members are available to assist you in making use of the materials in the Resource Room.
