Crystal Lake IL –  Thinking of adopting a cat?  During the month of October, McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) Animal Control and Adoption is offering a ½ price special on teenage cats between the ages of 1 and 3 years old.  All adopted cats go to new homes already spayed or neutered, micro chipped, treated for parasites, fleas and ticks and vaccinated with age appropriate vaccines.

According to Maryellen Howell, Veterinary Public Health Manager, “Because last winter was so mild, we’ve had an overabundance of kittens – it’s time to move these “teenagers” out and make some room.” Kara Plonczynski, Volunteer Coordinator & Health Educator, added “Not only do we need room for the kittens, but we thought the month of October was the perfect time to “fall” in love with a new furry friend!”

A picture is worth a thousand words – see photographs of the adorable cats and dogs available for adoption on the “McHenry County Animal Control & Adoption Center Friends” Facebook page.  For details on pet adoption, contact McHenry County Department of Health Animal Control and Adoption at 815-459-6222.   The McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption Center is located at 100 N. Virginia Street (Route 14) in Crystal Lake.
