Every time we eat in a restaurant, register our pets, build a well or septic system, need help for health care, or get our children vaccinated for school, the Health Department is involved to make us safer and healthier.

The McHenry County Health Department offers a variety of clinic services to the public.

Community Health Screenings - Appointments available on the 1st Wednesday of each month

Your cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and body mass index numbers are key indicators of your risk for chronic disease. For $25 the McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) will screen for these important risk factors.  To make an appointment click here.  For more information call 815-334-4510.

2017 McHenry County Healthy Community Study Results

Members of the public were invited to join us at McHenry County College on Tuesday, January 10 to learn the results of the Healthy Community Study.  Updated every 3-5 years, the year-long study gathered information from residents about County community and health priorities.  This information will be presented to various other groups in the coming months; to view previous study results, click here.
